Over the years, my specialization in the work of James Ensor has enabled me to facilitate the transfer of important works from Belgian private collections to institutions able to fully showcase and preserve them.
Thus, Enfants à la toilette (1886) joined the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent, Les Bains à Ostende (1890) entered the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, while the large drawing Les Masques singuliers (1883) has been pledged as a donation to the Art Institute of Chicago.
These are all examples in which the vision of the collector and the mission of museums converge to ensure the transmission of artworks to future generations.
